The Annual DICE (Design, Innovate, Create, Entertain) Summit will be held at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas February 17-20. In addition to a terrific line-up of speakers, there is a poker tournament opening the week on Tues 17th at the new Hard Rock Hotel Poker room, and a golf tournament at the Paiute Golf resort on the 18th. The 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards are on Thursday 19th once again hosted by Jay Mohr.

Think Services has launched the 23rd Annual Game Developers Conference (GDC). The GDC returns to San Francisco’s Moscone Center March 23-27, 2009. It is a week of learning, networking, and inspiration as over 18,000 developers convene to further the digital entertainment industry. The GDC hosts top sessions, panels, roundtables and keynotes from select speakers worldwide. Evening events include the 11th annual Independent Games Festival and the 9th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards. Adding to the improved navigation and networking opportunities this year is the revamp of myGDC — the Game Developers Conference professional networking tool—which features a database of over 5,000 game developers, an advanced scheduling/meeting tool, and premium GDC content.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the first of its kind experiment: a game Jam that takes place in the same 48 hours all over the world! The GGJ will start at 5:00PM Friday, January 30, 2009 through 5:00PM Sunday, February 1, 2009, (all times local). All participants in the Global Game Jam will be constrained by the same rules and limitations, with each time zone having one distinct constraint. GGJ will take place in 13 different time zones in 46 different locations around the globe. It is about making games and the GGJ creates a unique idea space open for innovation and ideas. The theme and constraints for participants in the Global Game Jam will be announced at 5:00PM on Friday, January 30, 2009 in your time zone. Kyle Gabler, Indie Developer of World of Goo will be keynoting the event.
